‘Sinulid’ unveils Benilde’s talent pool

De La Salle University-College of Saint Benilde 2016 Fashion Design and Merchandising graduates mounted a three-day exhibit culminating in a runway production at SM Aura Premiere in Bonifacio Global City. Dubbed “Sinulid: The Threads of Design,” the annual undertaking spotlighted Benilde’s current crop of talented designers as the graduates displayed their pieces that took into consideration their chosen target market, while highlighting their personal design aesthetics.
Fashion Merchandising Marketing students took inspiration from (clockwise from top) the summer season; the styles of Harajuku, Japan; androgyny; from the Jurassic era; and from Japanese samurais and peasants
In return, the event enabled budding designers to experience firsthand the demands of shoppers, as well as prepare them for possible careers as fashion buyers, merchandisers and entrepreneurs. A styling exposition likewise focused on their ability to meet the current requests for personal imaging consultants. The culminating fashion show featured collections ranging from classic to avant-garde, ready-to-wear to bespoke, and daywear to eveningwear as shown on this spread.
