The Bachelor of Arts in Fashion Design and Merchandising (FDM) Program is designed to prepare and equip students with fundamental research and design skills, technical skills and sustainable business skills essential to transforming an aspiring creative into a competent professional in the field of fashion.

The early part of the Fashion Design and Merchandising curriculum is designed to draw out the creative potential of the students. It seeks to realize their uniqueness and identity through meaningful and relevant art and design studies and exploration following the Foundation Studies Program.

The major courses offered by the curriculum are designed to provide experiential activities that will build and strengthen their creative and technical skills. This covers design conceptualization up to production processes.

Part of the curriculum is designed to orient and expose students to the working realities of the fashion industry. Students learn sustainable business practices in fashion merchandising, marketing and entrepreneurship in order to use design for providing practical solutions to social, environmental and economic needs.

The curriculum also offers twelve (12) units of electives to allow for the in-depth study of their chosen field in design, merchandising or entrepreneurship.

SEWING ROOMS
Our Sewing room is well equipped with high speed sewing machines and Interlock machines at par with the standards of the apparel industry.

TEXTILE LAB ROOMS
In this space students can learn to create different constructions of textiles by using the weaving looms and knitting equipment. Dye vats for dyeing of fabrics and heat press machines for textiles printing are also available. There is also a good library of fabrics and fiber materials in the textile lab.

BORROWING CENTER
The borrowing area provides the equipment that fashion design majors need. Portable sewing machines, flat iron, mannequins, dress forms are readily available for fashion design majors to use while in school.

CAD ROOMS
Our CAD room is equipped with the latest computers and updated Windows operating system. It also houses our digitizer used for transferring existing patterns and slopers onto the computer.

DRAPING ROOMS
The Draping Room is a creative space for students to experiment on shaping their fabrics into three-dimensional forms. Its roomy attribute makes it a conducive area for students who bring in their dressforms and work on their draping projects. The room is also surrounded by different on-progress draped experimentation which can be a source of inspiration among the students.

LECTURE ROOMS
The lecture rooms are equipped with the latest computer and operating system and a smart tv for lectures and presentations.
