Inspired from weighted blankets, Sense features weighted and tactile garments that aims to reduce stress and anxiety through (1) Deep Pressure Touch using the weight & pressure of the beads and (2) Sensory Integration Therapy incorporating tactile input such as squeezing, pulling, and/or any kind of fidgeting. Applying these two factors help people feel physically and mentally warm and cuddled thereby reducing stress, calming anxiety, and giving extra support as we feel “grounded” by our clothes. The designer created an innovative & interactive fabric manipulation called “bead shirring” that incorporates both weight and tactile features that can be fidgeted/played with. In addition, quilts are also included for comfort.
